Judges

The New York International Cheese Competition is the only International Food Competition judged by trade buyers who assess the product by category as well as actual price.

This is a great opportunity for established producers as well as new ones looking to enter the USA market to be blind tasted by real trade buyers who make buying decisions for their business. Please check back as we regularly update our judges list.

Why are you interested in judging in this cheese competition?

I am passionate about the products and producers we work with and relish any opportunity to engage with product and producers through competition. It is an opportunity to use my cumulative experience working with cheese to assess the quality, integrity of production, flavor and commercial viability of a cheese. I also want to be of assistance to cheesemakers who want feedback. I also consider an opportunity for me to learn more about cheese and the industry I love. And finally, after 25 years of working with cheese, I really still enjoy eating it and look forward to eating the cheeses I'm fortunate to judge.

Why are you interested in judging in this cheese competition?

I am honored to be invited to judge this competition and excited to bring my experience to the tasting room. At Rogers Collection, we seek out cheeses that have a dynamic story to tell about the place, the animals, the tradition or innovation around it, and the human touch...I love that all of this can be expressed in a single taste. I am looking forward to tasting and recognizing quality.
